What Replaces the Exam
Three checks take the place of a medical exam:
- Your answers. The form asks about your health past — conditions, drugs, hospital stays, tobacco.
- Drug records. With your okay, the carrier checks prescription records against your answers.
- Public records. A basic identity and fraud check.
No blood draw. No urine test. No stranger at your door.
Who Gets Approved
Most Florida residents ages 50 to 85. High blood pressure, high cholesterol, and arthritis most often do not block you. Diabetes that is kept in check most often does not block you either. These things may shape the price or the plan type — not always the answer.
When Exams Still Happen
Big traditional policies — $250,000 and up — sometimes still ask for exams. The small final expense plans on this site ($5,000 to $35,000) almost never do.
Tell the truth on the form. The drug check will catch what you skip. A false answer can void a claim later — the worst gift you can leave your family. When in doubt, disclose.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will the carrier see my full medical file?
No. They see drug history and may ask your doctor a pointed question. Your full file stays private unless there is a clear reason and your written okay.
I take five prescriptions. Am I out of luck?
Not at all. What matters is control and stability. Tell me what you take — I will tell you straight which carriers tend to say yes.
No exam sounds like automatic approval. Is it?
No. "No exam" still means health questions, and the carrier can say no. Only guaranteed-issue plans skip the questions — and they cost more and grade the payout for two years.
